Efesto EPS
Independent, patented, and precision-engineered fatigue testing services for drill pipes, collars, and tubular connections — at real scale.
The Challenge
Fatigue failure in tubular components is a critical risk — and one that standard lab tests often fail to replicate accurately.
Most testing facilities work with scaled-down samples that don’t reflect real-world stress conditions. The result? Uncertain data, and risk in the field.
If you need reliable, independent fatigue testing on actual drill pipes, drill collars, or tubular connections — you’re in the right place.
HOW IT WORKS
We use resonance-based fatigue testing to replicate the cyclic bending loads
experienced by tubular components during actual drilling operations.
An eccentric rotating mass induces the specimen to vibrate at its first resonance frequency. At ~25 Hz, 1 million fatigue cycles complete in approximately 11 hours.
Every test delivers fatigue life data, S-N curves, load amplitude history, and fracture analysis — with calibrated strain gauges and laser displacement sensors.
Protocols tailored to your geometry, load conditions, and requirements — including internal pressurization and fatigue block loading sequences.

WHY CHOOS US
Unbiased results you can trust
Efesto EPS is not a component manufacturer. Our reports are produced by an independent laboratory — giving you data you can rely on for engineering decisions, procurement, and compliance.
Innovation that sets us apart
The RRTB features a patented variable bending load system, allowing for fatigue block loading sequences that better reflect real operational conditions.
No compromises on scale
We test the actual component, not a miniaturized model. Full-scale specimens mean full-scale results: geometry, material behavior, and connection dynamics all preserved.
Backed by University of Pisa (Italy)
Developed in collaboration with the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering at the University of Pisa, combining rigorous academic methodology with industrial application.
Your test, your requirements
From internal pressurization to non-standard geometries and load sequences, our team works with you to design a test that answers your specific engineering questions.
